BKS IYENGAR YOGA — DALLAS Concept index — 05 studies
Five directions, one studio

How should a yoga school
look on the web?

BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas teaches one method — the yoga of B.K.S. Iyengar — with daily classes and an on-demand library. These five concept studies explore how that practice could meet a newcomer online: dark and typographic, scroll-driven, playful with masks, quiet and editorial, or reduced to a single poster.

Each study is a complete, independent direction — different structure, different rhythm, same studio. Open the ones that interest you; every page links back here.

01

Dark Index v1 · Dark portfolio

A dark, index-style study: oversized typography, a scrolling word band, a numbered class index, and study cards that stack and settle as you scroll. For the visitor who reads first.

02

Scroll Story v2 · Scroll-driven

A two-phase scroll narrative: a fixed hero, a black panel that rises to cover it, and the method told in five movements — alignment, props, sequencing, practice, and the wider school. Ends in a white clearing with a single call to action.

03

Card Mosaic v3 · Three screens

Three full-screen sections after a counting intro. Rounded cards act as windows onto one shared giant word — alignment, Iyengar, practice — each revealing a different slice. Staggered entrances, drawer menu on mobile.

04

Light Minimal v4 · Editorial

White, quiet, editorial: a narrow column, a rotating carousel of B.K.S. Iyengar's own words, a vertical class index, a first-visit guide, and a small mouse-trail experiment. The calmest of the five.

05

Poster v5 · Single screen

No scrolling at all: one dark poster with a giant wordmark. Move your pointer and an organic trail erases the dark layer, revealing a second, information-dense poster beneath — the full class index, first-visit notes, and contact.

A note on the set

Each study keeps the same essentials — the Iyengar method, props by name, daily classes, workshops — and changes everything else: the rhythm of the scroll, the weight of the type, the way information arrives. That is the point of the set. A studio choosing a website is not choosing a color; it is choosing how a stranger's first minute feels, and whether that minute sounds like the room itself: quiet, precise, unhurried.

If you are reading as the studio: start with Light Minimal for the calmest statement of who you are, Scroll Story for the most theatrical, and Poster if you want a single image that carries the whole practice. The words throughout are written in the studio's own voice — steady, specific, and free of the usual wellness noise. Nothing here is final; everything here is a direction worth discussing.
