01 — The school

Grounded and genuine. For over a dozen years, Yoga East Austin has taught therapeutic hot yoga the old way: one heated room, a set sequence that works every joint and muscle, and teachers who actually teach for a living. You do not need to be flexible or strong to start. You take class to get there.

/ 01

Bikram 90

The original hot yoga and the backbone of this school. 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises in a 105°F room, 90 minutes. A therapeutic sequence designed to move fresh, oxygenated blood through every part of the body — beginners welcome, regulars still humbled.

Heated · 90 min
/ 02

Bikram 60

The same 26-posture therapeutic sequence, distilled to 60 minutes for working days. Same heat, same discipline, half the time commitment. Ideal if you want the Bikram benefits on a lunch break.

Heated · 60 min
/ 03

JM Vinyasa

Breath-led vinyasa for discipline and strength. Creative sequencing, steady pacing, and enough heat to keep the muscles warm while you build the kind of strength that shows up off the mat.

Warm · 75 min
/ 04

Rocket

Core strength and movement for joint health. Rocket takes the structure of a strong vinyasa practice and opens it up — inversions, arm balances, and modifications for wherever you are today.

Warm · 75 min
/ 05

Spine & Hips

Happy spine, open hips, happy life. A slower, targeted practice that works the two places desk life ruins first. Expect deep holds, props, and walking out taller than you walked in.

Non-heated · 60 min
/ 06

Forrest / Yin

Slow and steady for focus. Long holds, conscious breathing, and floor-based shapes that ask more of your attention than your athleticism. The class regulars take when their bodies say "enough."

Non-heated · 60–75 min

03 — Why the heat

105°F

The room is heated to 105°F with 40% humidity for a reason: warm muscles stretch safely, and the heat lets you work deeply without forcing. You will sweat — a lot. You will also leave with the particular clarity that only comes after ninety minutes of doing one hard thing on purpose. Hydrate before class, bring water, and expect your first few sessions to be an adjustment. That is normal. Everybody's first class is humbling.

06 — Questions

Before you
come in

Q1  How much does it cost to start?+

$59. The 3-week intro pass gives you unlimited classes across 10+ styles and 38+ weekly offerings (per yogaeastaustin.com/pricing), expires 22 days after your first class, and never auto-renews. It's the cheapest way to find out if hot yoga is for you.

Q2  Do I need to book a spot?+

No. Show up about 15 minutes before class and say hello at the front desk — no online reservation needed. First-timers should come a little earlier so we can show you the room.

Q3  What do I bring to a hot class?+

Water, a mat, and a towel. Don't have them? Mat and towel rentals are $5 each, and a single drop-in ($33) or the visitor unlimited week ($75) already include a mat and two towels per class.

Q4  I've never done yoga. Can I do Bikram?+

Yes — that's who it's built for. You don't need to be flexible or strong to start; you take class to get there. The sequence is fixed, the teacher talks you through every posture, and resting in the room whenever you need to is completely normal.

Q5  Is everything heated?+

No. Bikram, vinyasa and Rocket run hot or warm; Spine & Hips, Forrest and yin are non-heated. With 33+ classes a week (per yogaeastaustin.com) you can choose your temperature every day.

QUESTIONS

Straight answers.

What does the $59 intro pass actually get me?

Three weeks of unlimited classes — 10+ styles, 38+ offerings a week (per yogaeastaustin.com/pricing). It starts on your first class, expires 22 days later, and never auto-renews.

Do I have to reserve a spot online?

No. Show up about 15 minutes early and say hello — that is the whole reservation system.

What if I have never done yoga in heat?

Then you are our favorite kind of student. Sit down whenever you need to, drink water, stay in the room. Non-heated options run all week if you want to start cooler.

What should I bring?

Water, a mat, and a towel. Rentals are $5 each; the $33 drop-in and $75 visitor week include a mat and two towels per class.
