The archive — how a lawn gets built

Every green lawn is six decisions made in the right order.

Scroll through the moves. Each one is a full day of work on its own, and skipping any of them is how lawns end up patchy, weedy, or drowned by August. This is the order we do them in, on every single job, residential or commercial.

We work across Miami-Dade — houses, duplexes, storefronts, HOA common areas. The grass changes with the shade and the budget, but the order never changes. Six moves, done right, in the right sequence. That is the whole secret, and there is no shortcut past any of them.

01 / THE SOIL

Grade it like it rains.

Miami soil is sand over limestone, and summer storms do not negotiate. We strip the old turf, rough-grade the whole yard, then fine-grade so water sheets off to the swale instead of pooling. Low spots get French drains tied to daylight. If the grade is wrong, nothing else matters.

02 / THE GRASS

Right grass, right spot.

St. Augustine Floratam for full sun, Empire Zoysia where the oaks shade half the day, Bermuda where kids and dogs run it over, Bahia where the budget is tight and the yard is big. We match the variety to your light, your soil, and how you actually use the yard.

03 / THE LAY

Fresh pallets, tight seams.

Sod goes down the day it arrives — never the day after. We stagger the seams like brickwork, butt every edge tight so weeds have nowhere to start, and roll the whole lawn twice so roots meet soil with no air pockets. Most homes are fully green by dinner.

04 / THE WATER

Water like you mean it.

New sod in Miami heat needs water twice a day for the first ten days, then we taper. We hand you a written schedule for your yard — not a generic flyer — and we tune your sprinklers for head-to-head coverage with a rain sensor, so you stop paying to water the sidewalk.

05 / THE DESIGN

Beds that frame the green.

A lawn looks twice as good with something to sit against. Curved beds with clean steel edges, mulch that stays put in storms, palms and native shrubs placed for how they look in three years. We design and plant it ourselves, so the plan and the shovel agree.

06 / THE CARE

First mow at eleven days.

We come back on day ten to check the seams and hand over the mowing height for your grass — high for St. Augustine, lower for Bermuda. Sharp blades, never more than a third off, and a heads-up on chinch bugs before they eat the summer. Then the lawn is yours.

Your turn.

Walk us through your yard and we will tell you exactly which of the six moves it needs — and which it does not. Some yards only need two: a regrade and fresh sod. Some need the full six. We will say which, in writing, before any pallets get ordered. Estimates are free, on site, and take about twenty minutes. Bring your questions about shade, drainage, dogs, sprinklers — we have heard them all.
