Nick’s is a two-trade shop: licensed plumbing on one side, air conditioning on the other. Most Dallas homes call us for one and stay for both — a water heater swap in the morning, an AC tune-up after lunch. We show up in a marked van, lay down drop cloths before we touch anything, and price the work before the wrench comes out. If a repair doesn’t make sense, we say so and tell you what would. That’s the whole business model.
How we workSlow tubs, gurgling toilets, main-line backups. We clear the line, camera-inspect what’s left behind, and show you the footage before you pay a dime. Hydro-jetting for grease and root intrusion, spot repairs when digging up the whole yard would be overkill.
Sample: drain clearing from $129Tank and tankless installs, repairs, and flushes. If your unit is over ten years old and leaking from the base, we’ll tell you to replace it instead of sinking money into a repair. New installs include pan, drain line, expansion tank, and haul-away of the old unit.
Sample: tank install from $1,450Slab leaks, pinhole leaks in copper, mystery water bills. Acoustic listening and thermal imaging to find the leak without opening five walls. Slab reroutes in PEX when the foundation keeps eating copper — it happens a lot in North Texas soil.
Sample: leak locate from $249AC repair, seasonal tune-ups, and full system replacements. Dallas summers don’t forgive a weak capacitor, so we test the whole system — refrigerant charge, airflow, drain line, thermostat calibration — not just the part that failed. Straightforward talk about repair-vs-replace on units past their prime.
Sample: tune-up from $89Burst pipe at 2 a.m., AC dead in a 102° heat wave. The emergency line rings a real person, not a call center. We triage by phone first — sometimes the fix is shutting the main valve and waiting for morning, and we’d rather tell you that than bill you for it.
Sample: after-hours dispatch $95

Double-bowl sink backing up into the disposal side — classic grease choke about forty feet down the line. Cable cleared it, camera showed the pipe itself in good shape, so no jetting needed. We left the homeowner with a blunt warning about pouring bacon grease down the drain and a bottle of enzyme treatment.
Book a drain clearing

Twelve-year-old tank rusting through the jacket in a garage closet. Same-day swap: new 50-gallon unit, braided supply lines, thermal expansion tank to meet current code, condensate pan with drain to the exterior, and the dead tank hauled to recycling. Hot water back on before dinner.
Ask about replacement

Condenser humming but the fan wouldn’t spin — swollen run capacitor and a pitted contactor. Replaced both, checked refrigerant pressures, washed the coil, and verified a 20-degree split across the evaporator before leaving. The system is fourteen years old; we put the replace-vs-repair math in writing for next season.

You get a flat price before work starts — not an hourly meter running while someone hunts for parts. If the job changes mid-way, we stop, explain, and re-quote before continuing. The samples on this page are starting points, not promises.
Standard service calls include diagnosis. After-hours emergency dispatch carries a flat dispatch fee that’s credited toward the repair if you approve the work.
Yes — that’s the point of the shop. If the water heater and the AC both need attention, one truck, one appointment window, one invoice.
Clear a path to the water heater, the AC unit, and the main water shutoff. Know where your breaker panel is. If there’s active flooding, shut the main valve first — we’ll talk you through it on the phone.
We’re residential-first. Small offices and restaurants with straightforward systems — happy to look. Anything with a building engineer on staff is outside our lane.
We install what we’d put in our own houses and we service everything else. Ask on the call and we’ll tell you exactly which models we carry and why.
