McDonald Roofing Contractors Ltd.
Roofing contractor · London · Est. 1973
We started in Chiswick in 1973 — one family, one trade — and we've been on London's rooftops ever since. Slating, tiling, flat roofing in zinc, copper, felt and asphalt, honest repairs, and careful work on listed buildings and conservation areas.
Most of what we do is domestic: the roofs people actually live under. We survey every job in person, we quote in writing, and the quote is free with no obligation. All these years on, we still answer our own phone.
Call the office on (555) 010-2030, or write to [email protected].

Why people call us back
"A roof is the one part of your house you never look at — until it fails. Our job is to make sure it never gets that far."
The McDonald family · Roofers since 1973
Five trades · one firm
Natural slate, stripped back and re-laid properly. We take failing coverings off, repair battens and structure underneath, and lay new slate in courses to suit the house. A slate roof done well is built to last.
Best for: Victorian and Edwardian terraces, period re-roofs. Sample: full re-slate from £X,XXX.
Plain tiles, pantiles and interlocking profiles for London's period and post-war stock. Repairs matched to existing tiles so a patch doesn't shout; full re-tiles with renewed valleys, re-bedded ridges and sorted ventilation.
Best for: interwar semis, 1930s stock. Sample: full re-tile from £X,XXX.
Extensions, dormers, garages and outbuildings. Standing-seam zinc and copper for a crisp, long-life finish; high-performance felt and mastic asphalt where the budget or building calls for it. Falls set correctly to the outlets — the detail that decides whether a flat roof lasts.
Best for: rear extensions, dormers. Sample: zinc flat roof from £X,XXX.
Leaks traced to source, slipped slates and tiles re-fixed, failed lead flashing renewed, storm damage made safe. We diagnose before we quote: if a repair will genuinely hold, we'll say so; if the roof is finished, we'll tell you that too.
Best for: leaks, storm damage, maintenance. Sample: repairs from £XXX.
Much of our work sits in conservation areas and on listed buildings. Like-for-like materials, photographed and documented, with the clear written records conservation officers ask for. Period detailing — dentil courses, clay ridges, lead work — is our home ground.
Best for: heritage stock, planning-sensitive work. Sample: survey always free.
