Chapter 01 — The practice

A sensory yoga experience, built for every body.

At YogaSix Clear Lake Reserve in Houston, Texas, yoga is not a performance. Each of our six class formats has a specific focus and produces specific body benefits — strength, agility, flexibility, and balance. Whether your body is craving weights, a good sweat, or a deep stretch, one of the six has you covered. The room is warm, the music is on, and the instructors demonstrate every option, so a first-timer and a five-year practitioner can share the same class and both leave worked. Practice areas are thoroughly sanitized before and after every session. Call (555) 010-2030 and we will find your format.

Chapter 02 — The six formats

Pick your intensity.

i.

Y6 101Foundations · Unheated

Where everyone begins. Foundational postures, breath mechanics, and alignment taught at a teaching pace — precise enough for experienced students, welcoming enough for day one.

All levels
ii.

Y6 RestoreDeep stretch · Slow

The antidote to desk posture and heavy training weeks. Long, supported holds for hips, hamstrings, shoulders, and spine. You will leave taller than you arrived.

Gentle
iii.

Y6 Slow FlowVinyasa · Mindful

Vinyasa at half speed — breath linked to movement with time to feel each transition. Builds balance, coordination, and a quiet kind of focus.

All levels
iv.

Y6 HotHeated · Athletic

The signature heated practice. Warm room, athletic sequencing, serious sweat. Heat built from the inside out; hydrate before and rest whenever you need.

Heated
v.

Y6 PowerHeated · Strength

Strength-first yoga: longer holds, core-forward sequencing, a pace that treats the mat like training ground. Where runners and lifters tend to land.

Heated
vi.

Y6 Sculpt & FlowHeated · Weights

Light dumbbells meet vinyasa. Full-body intervals that build lean muscle while keeping the mobility work yoga is famous for. The most "workout" of the six.

Chapter 03 — Your first visit

What to expect.

Before class

Book ahead through the live schedule — evening and weekend classes fill up. Arrive about 15 minutes early so the front desk can show you around and set you up near the instructor. Tell them it is your first time; they will take it from there.

  • Bring a mat, a towel, and water
  • Wear what you can sweat and stretch in
  • Free on-site parking at 5440 El Dorado Blvd
  • Rooms are sanitized before and after every class

During class

Every posture comes with options, and the instructor demonstrates them all. Take the simpler variation whenever you want — nobody is keeping score. In heated classes, rest in child's pose as often as you like and step out for air if you need it. The only expectation is that you stay for savasana: you have earned it.

  • Modifications demoed for every level
  • Rest whenever you need — no permission required
  • Heated rooms: hydrate before, not just during

Chapter 04 — Questions

Asked often.

I'm not flexible at all. Is yoga for me?

Flexibility is the result, not the requirement. Saying you're too stiff for yoga is like saying you're too dirty for a shower. Y6 101 is designed for tight hamstrings and skeptical beginners — props and modifications included.

What is the difference between Hot and Power?

Heat versus strength. Y6 Hot is the athletic heated flow — warmth, sweat, cardiovascular work. Y6 Power is strength-forward sequencing with longer holds (also heated). Many students alternate the two; both will humble you politely.

Can I just drop in, or do I need a membership?

Drop-ins are welcome. Single classes, class packs, and unlimited memberships are all available. If you plan to come twice a week or more, the unlimited monthly membership is usually the best value — ask the studio for current pricing.
