Iyengar lineage — precision in every pose
Props for every body — blocks, straps, chairs
Woman-founded studio — teaching since 2012

We teach alignment-based Iyengar yoga the slow way: postures broken down, measured, and rebuilt with props — so beginners and experienced students practice side by side.

Start with
foundations

Our four-week beginner course teaches the studio's whole vocabulary: standing poses, props, and a home sequence you can repeat. Stiff hips and tight hamstrings are the normal starting point — not the exception.

Restore

Bolsters, blankets, and long holds. Evening sessions for nervous systems that need to downshift.

Therapeutic

Back care &
restoration

Six-week back care clinics with rope-wall traction and supported backbends, plus monthly two-hour restorative workshops. Many students arrive on a doctor's or physical therapist's suggestion. Intake forms keep every session safe and honest.

The back care process

  1. Intake form — your history, in your words.
  2. Weeks 1–2 — assessment and traction.
  3. Weeks 3–5 — supported backbends and twists.
  4. Week 6 — a personal 20-minute home routine, written down.
One to one

Private
sessions

Sixty minutes built around your body and your schedule — injuries, performance goals, or a practice that fits a complicated week. The first session is an assessment; we watch how you move and design from there. In-studio or at your home in Miami Beach.

Meditation

Thirty minutes of seated practice, Sunday mornings. Breath observation and silence — chairs and cushions provided, no cross-legged sitting required.

Before
you come

First visit

Arrive 15 minutes early. Wear clothes you can move in. We provide mats, blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters, and chairs — bring only yourself. Tell the teacher about injuries or pregnancies before class; adapting poses is the whole point of the Iyengar method.

What makes Iyengar different

The method of B.K.S. Iyengar: precision of alignment, intelligent sequencing, and props that make correct practice available to any body. Postures are held longer than in flow styles, building strength and self-observation. Teachers train for years before certification — expect detailed, hands-on instruction.

Questions

I've never done yoga. Where do I start?
Foundations, our four-week beginner course, or any Beginners class. You do not need to be flexible — flexibility is the result, not the requirement.
I'm injured, pregnant, or over 65. Can I still come?
Yes — this method is especially suited to you. Tell the teacher beforehand; every pose adapts with props. Chair yoga and back care exist for exactly these situations.
Do I need my own mat or props?
No. The studio is fully stocked with everything you will use.
How is this different from hot or flow yoga?
No heat, no rushing. Poses are held and refined — closer to learning an instrument than to a workout.
Can I drop in?
Multi-level, restorative, chair, and meditation accept drop-ins. Foundations and Back Care Clinic require enrollment since they build week to week.
Where do I park?
Street parking on 41st Street and nearby blocks; the studio sits a short walk from the Collins Avenue bus lines.
