Western Pacific HVAC is a family shop in East Vancouver. We repair and maintain heat pumps, air conditioners and mini-splits for homes — and rooftop units, walk-in coolers and refrigeration for local businesses. Red Seal technicians, licensed by Technical Safety BC, and a standing rule: quote before work, no surprise pricing.
“We are not a call centre. We are a family business that measures airflow before we quote, explains the finding in plain language, and only does work you approve.”
Big HVAC companies sell equipment; we solve comfort problems. A heat pump that ices up every January, a mini-split that drips, a bedroom that never warms up, a walk-in cooler running warm on a Friday night — these are the jobs we built the shop around. Our technicians are Red Seal certified and licensed through Technical Safety BC. We are members of the Heat Pump and Climate Network and the Thermal Environmental Comfort Association. Every visit runs the same three steps: listen and inspect, explain the finding, approve the work. That discipline is why neighbours rate us 4.9 out of 5 across 47 reviews, and it is the only marketing we trust.
East Vancouver houses, laneways and condos. The comfort problems that get rushed past elsewhere are our specialty.
Cafes, restaurants, retail and offices across the Lower Mainland. The equipment your day depends on.
Ducted and ductless heat pumps: defrost faults, icing, short-cycling, refrigerant leaks, worn compressors. Annual maintenance that keeps Vancouver winters manageable.
Central air and ductless mini-splits: deep cleaning, coil and drain care, electrical checks, performance testing — and honest advice when replacement is truly the answer.
Hot and cold spots diagnosed with real measurements, corrected at the source: ducts, dampers, fan settings. Not guesswork.
Packaged rooftop units for shops and offices: maintenance plans, belt and filter programs, repairs scheduled around your business hours.
Cooler and freezer boxes for food businesses: door seals, controls, refrigeration circuits — fixed before small faults become spoilage.
Reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines. Fast diagnosis, straight pricing, maintenance plans that keep food safe and inspectors satisfied.
A dead heat pump in January or a failed walk-in cooler on a busy night is not a next-week problem. Call (555) 010-2030, Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, and we will get you on the schedule as fast as the day allows. If we cannot reach you in time, we will tell you exactly what to check or shut off so nothing gets worse while you wait.

You describe the symptom; we inspect the system and measure — airflow, temperature split, electrical draw.
What failed, why, and what it costs — in plain language, with readings to prove it.
A firm quote, your approval, then tools come out. The invoice matches the quote.

A thin frost that melts during the defrost cycle is normal; heavy ice that never clears is not. Low refrigerant, a failing defrost sensor or blocked airflow are the usual causes. If the ice keeps returning, book a check before the compressor pays for it.
New noise always deserves a look; it is rarely an emergency. Rattling panels and worn fan bearings are common and cheap when caught early. A grinding compressor is different — turn the system off and call (555) 010-2030.
Age plus repair history decide. Under about 10 years with a single failed part, repair is usually the smart money. Past 12–15 years with repeat breakdowns, a new efficient system often costs less than two more years of repairs. We show you the math both ways.
Once a year, minimum. A yearly tune-up catches refrigerant loss, dirty coils and electrical wear before they become breakdowns. Commercial refrigeration and rooftop units belong on a scheduled plan.
Quote before work, no surprise pricing. We inspect, explain the finding, and give you a firm price to approve before we start. If the job changes mid-way, we stop and re-quote.
