About
the crew

Wedgeworth Plumbing is a family-run shop serving Dallas homes. We show up on time, wear the shoe covers, and explain what broke before we touch a wrench. No jargon, no upsell theater: you get a straight diagnosis, a written price before work starts, and a job site left cleaner than we found it. We would rather talk you out of a repair you do not need than sell you one you do.

Services

Five things we do well — and do often
01

Leak detection & repair

Water stains on the ceiling, a meter that spins when nothing is running, a wall that sounds like rain — leaks announce themselves badly and get worse fast. We trace the source with pressure testing and thermal inspection, open the smallest possible area, and repair the pipe with the right fitting for the material: copper, PEX, or CPVC. Then we dry the area and tell you what to watch for next.

Pipes · Slab lines · Supply & waste
02

Drain cleaning

Slow tub, gurgling kitchen sink, a main line that backs up every spring — Dallas clay soil shifts, and old cast iron does not forgive. We clear the line with the right tool for the clog: hand auger for traps, drum machine for branch lines, hydro-jetting when grease has had years to settle. If the camera shows a break, we will show you the footage and talk through options.

03

Water heaters

Cold showers in January are a special kind of betrayal. We repair and replace tank and tankless units: thermostats, elements, anode rods, gas valves, venting. A swap-out usually takes a few hours — old tank drained and hauled, new unit set, piped, and fired up, with the expansion tank and pan done to code. We will also tell you honestly when a repair buys you real years and when it is throwing money at rust.

Repiping

When the third leak this year springs in the same galvanized run, it is not bad luck — it is the pipe telling you it is done. Whole-home repipes replace failing supply lines with PEX or copper, usually in two to three days, with drywall patches kept to straight runs and daily cleanup. We map every fixture first so you are never guessing what is behind your walls again.

Fixture installs & maintenance

Faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, hose bibbs, supply lines, shut-off valves — the small stuff that makes a house livable. We install customer-supplied fixtures or source them for you, and we do the maintenance nobody remembers until it fails: water heater flushes, anode checks, washing-machine hose replacement, and a once-over of every visible shut-off so one stuck valve never becomes an emergency.

Day one: we map the old galvanized runs, shut water at the main, and open clean access behind the tub. New PEX goes in with home-run lines back to the manifold — each fixture on its own shut-off. Day two: pressure test, patch drywall cuts, flush every line, and hand you a map of what runs where. Hot water arrives faster, pressure stops sagging, and the pinhole-leak era ends.

A fifteen-year-old tank gives up on a Monday morning. By afternoon: old tank drained and hauled away, new 50-gallon unit set on a fresh pan, expansion tank, new supply lines, gas reconnected and leak-tested, venting checked, thermostat set. We light it, verify hot water at the tap, and show you the drain valve so the yearly flush is a ten-minute job you can do yourself.

A main-line rescue, from clog to clear

Every fixture in the house backs up at once — the classic main-line signal. We pull the cleanout cap, run the camera in, and find the culprit: roots at the clay joint, forty feet out. The cutter clears it, we run the camera again to confirm full flow, and you watch the footage. If roots will be back, we say so and price the long-term fix separately. No mystery, no repeat-visit games.

Call or text and tell us what the water is doing. We will ask a few questions, give you an honest read on whether it can wait, and schedule a window that respects your day. When we arrive, the price is agreed before the wrench comes out — and it does not change when the job gets awkward.

What helps us help you faster: where the water is (or was), what changed recently, and a photo of the fixture or the wet spot. If it is a leak you cannot stop, find your main shut-off — usually near the street or the garage — and turn it clockwise until it stops.

Sample visit pricing: diagnostic visit $89 (waived with repair) · drain clearing from $149 · water heater flush $129. Final price confirmed on site, in writing, before work begins.
