Practice 01
Kundalini Yoga
Breath-led kriyas, chanting, and meditation folded into one class. Students describe it as the fastest way they know to quiet a crowded head — energizing without being athletic.
Yoga studio & sound sanctuary — Phoenix, AZ
01 — The room
Most studios sell you a workout. This one was built around a different question: what does a room feel like when every detail serves your nervous system?
Trace Zen Yoga sits on Bell Road in Phoenix, founded by Tracy, a nurse who started with sound — gong baths first — and kept going until the room held a full practice: Kundalini yoga for energy, restorative yoga for recovery, Reiki, massage, meditation, and the Tylrelax events and retreats the neighborhood keeps coming back for. It is Black-owned, women-owned, and deliberately small: classes sized so a teacher can actually see you.

Practice 02
Live gongs and crystal bowls while you lie down and rest. No experience needed, no flexibility required. Imagine: the deepest rest of your month.
Practice 03
A quiet 60-minute one-on-one session, fully clothed. Most people book it on the weeks when words have stopped helping.
Practice 04
Long-held, fully supported postures with bolsters and blankets. Built for tight shoulders, bad sleep, and weeks that ran too long.
Practice 05
Massage therapy with Gina B. — classic 60-minute sessions, acoustic massage with vibrational therapy, and an intro hot stone. Plus guided meditation circles and the community Tylrelax gatherings. The in-studio boutique carries incense, crystals, and oils students ask about after class.

Start with a sound bath or a gentle Kundalini class — both are designed for first-timers, and teachers expect beginners. Tell the teacher it is your first visit when you arrive.
You lie on a mat with a blanket while gongs and crystal bowls are played live around the room. There is no technique to learn. Most people drift somewhere between waking and sleep for about an hour.
No. Classes use breath patterns, movement, and sometimes chanting as tools for focus and energy. You are welcome whatever you believe, and participation in chanting is always optional.
