Chapter 01 — The enemy

Austin is beautiful. It is also brutal on paint.

UV that never really lets up. Heat that bakes dust into clear coat. Sudden downpours that leave water spots etched in by noon. Central Texas asks more of a car's finish than almost anywhere else in the country — and most cars here are fighting it with nothing but factory clear coat and hope.

That is the whole reason Taurus exists. We do not just make cars shiny; we armor them. Ceramic coatings that shed water and resist UV. Film that takes rock chips on the highway so your bumper does not. Tint that cuts the cabin heat your dashboard has been absorbing every August since you bought the car.

Chapter 02 — The order of operations

Correct first. Protect second. Always.

There is a wrong way to sell protection: coat over swirled, oxidized paint and let the customer admire the gloss for a month before the defects show through the coating — permanently. We will not do that job. Every package starts with paint-depth readings and an honest inspection, then correction, then the protection layer.

Sometimes the honest answer is that your car needs less than you asked for. A one-stage correction instead of three. A sealant instead of a coating because you trade cars every two years. We say that out loud, because a shop that oversells protection is a shop you cannot trust with your paint.
