A quiet room for loud lives.
Surya means sun. We are a small yoga studio in Phoenix built around the desert day — early classes in the cool air, slow evenings when the heat breaks, and a room that stays warm without ever becoming a sauna. One room, east-facing windows, no mirrors. Class sizes are capped so the teacher can actually see you, which means corrections land when you need them and beginners never get lost in a crowd.
This is yoga taught as a daily practice, not a performance. Breath first, shapes second, ego never. If that sounds like your speed, come ten minutes early and take the back row.
“We don't do loud here. The music stays under the breath, the teacher talks like a person, and the hardest thing in the room is showing up — everything after that is just breathing.”— How we teach, in one paragraph
What a week
looks like.
Mon — Fri · 6:00aSunrise Flow
Sixty minutes of breath-linked vinyasa and the heart of our schedule. We start slow, build heat through standing sequences and balance work, and land in a long cool-down. Teachers rotate the middle of the sequence weekly. The early crowd is loyal and quiet — arrive ten minutes early, because this hour fills first.
Tue · Thu · 6:30pFoundations
Yoga from the ground up, taught slowly on purpose. Basic shapes broken down joint by joint, props everywhere, questions welcome mid-class. If you have never done yoga, start here. If you have done it for years and something twinges, start here too.
Wed · 12:00p / Sat · 9:00aPower Hour
Faster, stronger vinyasa with long holds and core work woven through the whole hour. Still breath-led — if you cannot breathe through it, you back off. Some experience recommended; take Foundations first if you are new.
Fri · 6:30p / Sun · 5:00pDeep Yin
Seventy-five minutes on the floor in a low, warm room. A handful of shapes held for minutes at a time. Bring socks, leave the phone in the cubby, and do not plan anything demanding right after. You will float out of here.
Tue · Thu · 12:15pBreath & Sit
Thirty minutes, zero movement. Breathing patterns and a short guided sit. Pairs with any class; stands alone fine. Chairs available — sitting on the floor is not required.
Pricing, plainly.
Two ways to pay, four options total. We kept it boring on purpose — nobody ever needed twelve tiers with names.

Move your cursor.
Leave some light.
Breath is invisible, so we drew it for you. Drag slowly across this panel and watch your movement linger, then fade — the way a good exhale does.
Good questions.
Q1I've never done yoga. Will I be lost?
No. Foundations exists exactly for this, and teachers demo every sequence in the morning flows too. Tell the teacher it is your first class when you arrive — they will keep a quiet eye on you without singling you out.
Q2What do I bring?
Water and anything you can move in. Mats are free to borrow for your first three visits; props — blocks, straps, bolsters — live along the back wall. Take whatever you need; nobody keeps score on who uses a block.
Q3Is the room heated?
Warm, not hot. Low 80s, enough that muscles loosen without the room becoming the workout. We are not a hot-yoga studio and we say so honestly.
Q4Do I need to book ahead?
Yes — classes are capped small and popular hours fill a day ahead. Walk-ins get a spot only if one is open.
Q5Can I pause a membership?
One week's notice, no fee. Injuries, travel, new babies — we would rather have you back in three months than lose you to a cancellation you resent.
