SCROLL NARRATIVE — THREE CHAPTERS

What actually happens when you call at 2 a.m.

No scripts, no upsells. This is the real sequence from the night our on-call tech got the burst-pipe call off Gattis School Road — and how every emergency visit runs, start to finish. Keep scrolling; the night unfolds as you do.

01

CHAPTER 01 — THE CALL

The phone rings. A person answers.

2:14 a.m. A homeowner hears water where water shouldn't be — a supply line let go behind the laundry wall. They call the number on our truck, and a dispatcher who works for us (not a call center in another state) picks up on the second ring.

Three questions: where's the water, can you reach the main shutoff, is anyone's safety at risk. Then: "Turn the main clockwise. We're rolling — about 40 minutes." The on-call tech's truck is already stocked; there is no "we'll have to order that part" at 2 a.m.

While en route, the dispatcher texts the tech's name, photo, and license number. You know exactly who's knocking.

CHAPTER 02 — THE DIAGNOSIS

Stabilize first. Quote second.

The tech kills the water at the street, opens the wall with a surgical cut, and finds it: a 15-year-old copper elbow, thinned by years of hard water, finally gave up. First job is stopping damage — water extracted, valuables moved, drying started.

Then the camera-free part is over and the honest part begins. The tech shows you the failed fitting, explains the two options — spot repair tonight vs. replacing the whole run while the wall is open — and writes one flat-rate number for each. Parts, labor, drywall patch coordination: all in the number.

You pick. Nobody hovers. The price on the paper is the price on the invoice.

ELAPSED — 0:40 → 1:20

CHAPTER 03 — THE FIX

Fixed, tested, and gone by breakfast.

New run sweated in, pressure-tested to code, wall closed back up. The tech runs every fixture on that branch while you watch, checks the meter for movement with everything off, and photographs the finished work for your records.

Drop cloths folded, floor vacuumed, shoe covers in the trash — the laundry room looks like a laundry room again, not a job site. Before leaving, the tech walks you through what to watch for and leaves a card with the direct line, not a 1-800 number.

That is the whole philosophy: show up fast, tell the truth, do clean work, stand behind it. Twenty years, same night shift.

ELAPSED — 1:20 → 3:05

Daylight services

Emergencies are the night shift. Days are for everything else — planned work, priced the same honest way.

DRAIN CLEANING

Cable and hydro-jet clearing for kitchen, bath, and main lines, finished with a camera inspection so you see the cause. Grease, roots, scale — diagnosed on screen.

WATER HEATERS

Tank repair and replacement plus tankless installs, sized to your household's real hot-water load. Annual flush service fights hard-water scale.

LEAK DETECTION

Electronic acoustic and thermal detection pinpoints hidden leaks within inches — critical in clay-soil neighborhoods where slab leaks start quietly.

SEWER LINE REPAIR

Camera inspection, spot repairs, and full replacements with trenchless options where the property allows. Before/after footage included.

GAS LINES

Licensed gas leak testing, repair, and new runs for grills and outdoor kitchens. Pressure-tested and permitted.

REPIPING

Whole-home repipes in PEX or copper, most homes done in 1–2 days with minimal drywall impact.

REMODELS

Rough-in and finish plumbing for kitchen and bath remodels, coordinated with your contractor's schedule.

COMMERCIAL

Maintenance programs and after-hours response for offices, restaurants, and retail across Williamson County.

Straight answers

What does a visit cost?

A standard dispatch fee covers the trip and diagnosis. Then a written flat-rate quote before any work. Sample figures: drain clearing from $149 (Sample), water heater install from $1,450 (Sample). Your quote is written on site, after we see the job.

How fast is emergency response?

Inside Round Rock city limits we target 60 minutes, 24/7. Surrounding areas — Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Hutto — run longer depending on the hour, and we'll tell you the honest ETA on the phone.

Why does Round Rock get so many slab leaks?

Expansive clay soil. It swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and that movement stresses pipes under the slab. Warning signs: warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water with everything off, a water bill that jumps for no reason. Call early — small leaks are cheap, foundation damage isn't.

Do you warranty your work?

Workmanship is backed by our satisfaction guarantee plus a written labor warranty; parts carry manufacturer warranties. It's all on the invoice, in plain language.

Can I get a quote over the phone?

For straightforward jobs like a standard water heater swap we can give a tight range, but an honest final number needs eyes on the job. Anyone who quotes a repipe sight-unseen is guessing — with your money.

END OF THE NIGHT — START OF YOURS

Don't wait
for 2 a.m.

That drip under the sink, the water heater rumbling like a coffee maker, the drain that's "always been slow" — small problems charge interest. Call during daylight and we'll sort it on your schedule, not the emergency's.
