Scaled drawings and planting plans worked out with you, not handed to you. We design around how you actually use the garden — sun, shade, kids, dogs.
Block paving and resin-bound driveways built on proper foundations, with drainage and the dropped kerb sorted from the start.
Natural stone and porcelain paving, laid level and pointed to last. We are Tobermore and Natural Paving approved installers.
Sun-trap patios sized for real furniture and real barbecues, tied into the lawn and the borders so the garden reads as one.
Hardwood and composite decking, framed properly and built to stay flat — no springy boards, no wobbly steps.
Insulated garden rooms and home offices, finished inside and out — power, light and heating ready from day one.
Fire pits, seating walls, outdoor kitchens and lighting that keep the garden usable long after dark.
The full job from first sketch to final sweep: one team, one price, one phone number. Residential and commercial.
We have been designing and building gardens since 1982. Four decades on, we are still a family-run team, and we still do the whole job ourselves — the drawings, the groundworks, the planting and the finishing touches. No hand-offs halfway through, no subcontractors you have never met. When you ring 0141 942 8251, you speak to the people who will actually be in your garden. Most of our work comes from repeat customers and their neighbours, which is exactly how we like it.
Our yard sits at Carbeth Fishery, Stockiemuir Road, Blanefield — and our vans cover Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and everywhere in between across central Scotland. If you are inside the belt below, we are probably already working on your street.
Landscaping is an unregulated trade, so we carry the paperwork to prove we are not cowboys: fully insured, CHAS accredited, on the Marshalls Register, SafeContractor and SMAS Worksafe approved, and an approved installer for Tobermore and Natural Paving. ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 across the business.
"If quality and professionalism are a priority to you, as they were to us, we would thoroughly recommend Scott MacColl and his team for your landscaping requirements."
— D&J Kingham"Delighted with the work that's been done. Our garden was a large space but total disaster zone!! They dug the whole place up, cleared the site and started again."
— Melanie Russell"Delighted with the work done by MacColl and Stokes to transform our new-build plot into a wonderful garden... Our expectations have been met and more."
— Bruce McConnellOne figure we can stand behind, and the rest left blank rather than invented.
Tell us what you need. We will ring back, usually the same day, and arrange a visit. Estimates are free and there is no obligation — and no pushy follow-up calls afterwards.
We visit, listen, and measure. You tell us what drives you mad about the garden now and what you want from it.
Scaled drawings and a fixed written price. No vague "about three grand" — you see exactly what is included.
Our own team on site, site left tidy every night, and you always know who to ring with a question.
Final walk-round together, planting advice for the first year, and a written workmanship guarantee.
Most of our work is domestic: family gardens, new-build plots that need everything, tired lawns, sloping sites that need retaining walls and steps. We are used to working around kids, dogs and neighbours — and to leaving the house liveable while we are there.
We also take on commercial grounds, show homes and rental portfolios — with risk assessments and method statements as standard. Storm damage or a collapsed wall cannot wait: for urgent repairs, ring us direct.
Emergency repairs — call, don't email
Yes — always. Ring 0141 942 8251 or send the form above and we will arrange a visit. The estimate is free, written, and fixed — no obligation and no sales patter afterwards.
Usually not. Most patios, driveways and planting are permitted development. Garden rooms normally fall within permitted development if kept under 2.5m high near the boundary — and dropped kerbs need council permission, which we flag before we quote. If your job is the exception, we will tell you upfront.
A patio or driveway: about a week. A full garden design-and-build: three to six weeks depending on groundworks and weather. We give you a start date and a finish date in writing before we lift a spade.
Yes. Every project leaves with a written workmanship guarantee, and because we are approved installers for Tobermore and Natural Paving, the materials carry the manufacturers' own guarantees too.
Yes. Show homes, office grounds, rental portfolios and communal areas — with CHAS accreditation, SafeContractor approval and full risk assessments as standard.
