CHAPTER 01 — THE STUDIO

A neighborhood studio, run like family.

Loveland Yoga sits at 1717 W 34th St in Houston Heights — a locally owned studio where the teachers learn your name and the rooms are kept immaculate. Regulars describe it the same way: a supportive community, quality instruction, and a space that feels like home the first week in.

The practice menu covers the full arc of a week: Hot Hatha for slow, technical heat; Vinyasa for breath-linked flow; Yin Stretch for long, quiet holds; Warm Flow for the middle path; plus restorative formats like Love the Chill and Mommy & Me for moms with little ones.

Beyond the daily schedule, Loveland hosts breathwork sessions, sound baths, self-mastery workshops, and seasonal retreats — the kind of programming that turns a studio into a practice home rather than a gym membership.

And the practical details are handled: Free on-site parking, complimentary towels, and mat and towel rentals if you forget yours. Houston traffic is stressful enough; getting to class should not be.

CHAPTER 02 — THE CLASSES

Six ways in. Every one open to beginners.

New here? Start with Hot Hatha or Yin Stretch — then let the week decide the rest.

01 / HIGH HEATHot Hatha

Slower pacing in a heated room, building from fundamental postures. The best first class: the warmth helps flexibility and the pace lets you learn proper technique instead of guessing.

02 / WARM FLOWVinyasa

Postures linked to breath in continuous sequence — heat, strength, focus. Teachers offer options every step, so beginners and veterans share the room and both get the class they need.

03 / NO HEATYin Stretch

Long, supported holds in a cooler room for hips, hamstrings, and desk-shortened everything. Made for people who have been told they are "not flexible enough for yoga."

04 / GENTLE HEATWarm Flow

The middle path many members build their week around: enough movement to feel tomorrow, enough ease to want to come back. Friendly to first-timers and regulars alike.

05 / RESTORATIVELove the Chill

Low-light, prop-supported practice with guided breathwork for nervous-system recovery. The reset button of the schedule — ideal as a second weekly class.

06 / WITH LITTLE ONESMommy & Me

Yoga for moms with little ones, where a fussy baby is never a problem. Feeding, soothing, and moving — sometimes in the same pose. Nobody keeps score here.

CHAPTER 03 — THE FIRST VISIT

Ten minutes early. Doors lock on time.

Arrive 10–15 minutes before your first class. You will be greeted at the door, shown where to put your things, and introduced to your teacher so they know it is your first time.

Bring a yoga mat, yoga towel, water bottle, hand towel, and workout clothes — whatever feels comfortable to move in; it does not have to be traditional yoga wear. Forgot something? Mat + towel rental is $8, a Manduka mat rental is $5, water bottles are $4, and Manduka ProLite mats are available for purchase at $115.

Book ahead online: browse the schedule, choose your class, reserve your spot, and complete your intake forms and payment before you arrive. Then all you have to do is show up and breathe.

In class, you have standing permission to listen to your body — rest in child's pose, take the modified version, or simply breathe whenever you need. The room is built so day-one beginners and advanced students practice side by side.

CHAPTER 04 — QUESTIONS

Asked often.

What class should I take if I am brand new?

Start with Hot Hatha or Yin Stretch. Hot Hatha moves slowly in a heated room from fundamental poses, which makes it easy to learn proper technique and feel your progress. And every class here is genuinely beginner-friendly — teachers teach several versions of each pose at once, and resting or modifying is always welcome.

Do I need my own mat and towel?

No. Bring workout clothes, a hand towel, and a water bottle; rent the rest. Mat + towel is $8, a Manduka mat rental is $5, and water bottles are $4. Complimentary towels are standard here.

How early should I arrive?

Ten to fifteen minutes early for your first visit. Enough time to check in and meet your teacher. Doors lock at class start — late entry is not possible, so leave room for Houston traffic.

Where do I park?

Free on-site parking, with overflow parking by the warehouses behind Les Baget. The studio picked this location partly so parking would be the easiest part of your practice.

What should I wear?

Whatever you can move in. It does not have to be traditional yoga wear — comfortable workout clothes are perfect.
