002 — About the space

Kokoro R Yoga is a yoga and movement space in Bayswater, Western Australia, built around one idea: the mind-body-breath connection that comes from yoga and mindful movement. Classes are breath-led first and performance-led never. You move at the pace of your own breathing, rest whenever you need, and leave steadier than you arrived. The studio keeps prices in the affordable tier — their public listing marks them at $ — because a neighbourhood practice should be something you can actually keep up week after week.

New here? Their own advice to new students: reach out through their page to connect and get started — and browse their posts, reels and photos first to get a feel for the space before you walk in.

004 — Two tracks, one breath

Pick your pace. The breath stays the same.

TRACK / 01

Beginner track

Start with Foundations. Everything is explained in plain language, the pace is deliberately slow, and resting in child's pose mid-class is a legitimate strategy, not a failure. No flexibility required — tight hamstrings are practically a prerequisite.

  • Foundations & Breathwork Circle first
  • Props and variations in every class
  • Rest whenever you need — really
KOKORO R — 01/03
TRACK / 02

Experienced track

For established practitioners: longer holds, deeper transitions and breath retention layered into familiar sequences. Sunrise Flow and Evening Unwind both scale up — the teacher cues the stronger variation alongside the base one.

  • Longer holds, layered breathwork
  • Stronger variations cued in class
  • Weekend flow goes deeper
KOKORO R — 02/03
FOCUS / 03

Mindful movement

The studio's centre of gravity. Mindful movement here means attention on the link between breath and motion: inhale to lengthen, exhale to settle. It is the thread through every class on the schedule, and the whole point of the Breathwork Circle.

  • Breath-first cueing in all classes
  • Seated breath practice weekly
  • Downshift tools for stressful weeks

009 — FAQ

Asked often

How much do classes cost? +

Affordable — the studio's public listing puts it in the $ tier. Specific prices on this page are samples only, so confirm the real ones when you book by phone or email.

How do I get started as a new student? +

Reach out and say hello — that's the whole process. Call 0424 040 720, email [email protected], or message their page. Their own advice: reach out to connect and get started, and browse their posts, reels and photos first to learn about the space.

What does "mind-body-breath" actually mean here? +

It's the studio's own framing, quoted from their listing: "a yoga and movement space focused on the mind-body-breath connection that comes from yoga and mindful movement." In practice: breath leads, movement follows, and nobody is competing with the person on the next mat.

I've never done yoga. Can I come? +

Yes — start with Foundations or the Breathwork Circle. Foundations moves slower and explains the basics in plain language. Every class is breath-led, so you set the pace and rest whenever you need.

What should I bring? +

Clothes you can move in, and water. If you own a mat, bring it. Arrive a few minutes early so you're settled before class starts.
