Heat Source Direct is a renewables installer working across Leeds and West Yorkshire. We spend our days on roofs, in plant rooms and on driveways — fitting solar panels, sorting out EV chargers, and finding the wasted energy hiding in homes and business premises.
We started with a simple observation: most buildings use more energy than they need to, and most of the fixes are straightforward once someone takes the time to look. So that is what we do first — we look, properly, before we quote.
Every job begins with a survey and an honest conversation about what will actually pay back. Solar is one of the world's most established renewable technologies and the returns are genuinely impressive, but it is not right for every roof. Voltage optimisation can cut bills on the right supply, and does nothing on the wrong one. We would rather tell you that upfront than fit something you did not need.
Homes, landlords, shops, offices, warehouses — if it has a meter, we can probably help it use less.

Residential
Solar panels on the roof, a charger on the driveway, LEDs through the house — most home jobs combine two or three of our disciplines. We handle the survey, the scaffolding, the electrics and the registration paperwork, and we leave the place cleaner than we found it.
Commercial
For businesses the maths is usually the deciding factor, so we lead with it: measured baselines, modelled savings, and payback periods in writing before anyone signs anything. Voltage optimisation and LED refits tend to pay back fastest; solar follows close behind on the right roof.
How we start
We do not quote blind. A survey — on the roof, in the plant room, at the consumer unit — comes before any number we give you. It costs you nothing and it means the quote you get is the price you pay, not an estimate that grows.

Four steps, no surprises. You always know what happens next and what it costs before it happens.
We visit, measure and photograph. Roof orientation and shading for solar; supply readings for voltage optimisation; cable routes for EV chargers; a full walk-through for audits. This is free and without obligation.
You get an itemised quote in writing: equipment, labour, scaffolding, paperwork — everything. If the numbers do not make sense for you, we will tell you that too, even if it costs us the job.
Our own engineers do the work, not a chain of subcontractors. Most home solar fits take a day or two; EV chargers usually half a day; commercial work is scheduled around your opening hours.
We commission everything, show you the monitoring app, hand over the certificates and warranties, and leave you with a direct phone number. If something underperforms, we come back.

Yes — panels run on daylight, not heat. A Leeds roof still generates a strong yield across the year; winter output is lower, but the system is modelled on real local daylight data so the payback figures you get are honest, not brochure numbers.
Most straightforward installs land between £800 and £1,200 (Sample). The variables are the cable run from your consumer unit and whether the unit needs upgrading. We survey first and give you a fixed price before any work starts.
On the right supply, yes; on the wrong one, it does nothing — and we will tell you which yours is. We measure your incoming voltage over a logging period first. If the data supports it, the unit typically pays for itself through lower consumption on motors, lighting and heating.
Most home systems are fitted in one to two days. The survey and design happen beforehand, scaffolding goes up the day before, and you are generating by the time we leave. Commercial arrays are scheduled in phases around your operation.
