Locally owned & operated · Since 1918

Greenwood Heating and Air Conditioning has been locally owned and operated in Seattle since 1918. More than a century of furnaces, cold snaps, heat waves, and everything in between — handled by one family shop that never left town.

When you call, you talk to someone who works down the hall from the technicians who show up at your door. We serve King and Snohomish counties: the houses we drive past every day are the houses we work in.

Every job carries upfront pricing — the number we quote is the number you pay, with no hidden fees. And if something isn't right after we leave, you call us back. That has been the whole business model since 1918, and it still works.

Questions

Asked every week.

How often should I change my furnace filter?

Every one to three months during heating season — every month with pets or allergies. A clogged filter is the most common cause of dead-furnace calls that never needed to happen.

What are the signs my furnace needs repair?

Some rooms never warm up. New noises — banging, squealing, rattling. Short cycling, climbing bills, or a yellow burner flame on older models. Call before it quits on the coldest night of the year.

How long should a furnace last?

Fifteen to twenty years with regular maintenance. Past fifteen, with frequent repairs, we'll tell you honestly whether replacement makes more sense than another fix.

Do you really answer the phone at 2 a.m.?

For emergencies, yes. Furnaces quit in January at 2 a.m.; storms don't check the calendar. Emergency service runs around the clock, every day of the year.

Which areas do you serve?

King County and Snohomish County — the houses we drive past every day.
