Layered native Australian garden planting

Chapter 01 — Design

Every garden begins as a reading of the land.

Sun paths, stormwater, clay or sand, the neighbours' trees. Our landscape architects document what your site is already doing — then draw a garden that works with it. Native palettes, water-wise grading, rooms for living outdoors. Design from our Fortitude Valley studio, built by our own crews.

The native argument

Plants that evolved here handle Brisbane's heat and storms with less water, less fertiliser, less of your weekends — and feed the birds and bees while they do it.

Chapter 02 — What we do

Four disciplines, one team.

Green Care Project is deliberately integrated: the people who draw your garden are in the same practice as the people who build and maintain it. Nothing is lost between the drawing and the digging.

01

Landscape Architecture

Concept design and construction documentation for residential and commercial sites. Every plan drawn for your soil, aspect and microclimate — never a template dropped on a block.

02

Landscape Construction

Retaining walls, paving, decking, drainage, irrigation, lighting and structural planting — built in-house with a dedicated site lead and weekly photo updates.

03

Horticultural Maintenance

Scheduled care programs: pruning, mulching, feeding and seasonal adjustment that keep native gardens dense, healthy and weed-free through the year.

04

Environmental Consultancy

Ecological assessment, species selection and habitat planting plans — the discipline that keeps every project honest about its footprint.

05

Garden Renovations

Failed lawns, struggling exotics and overgrown beds rebuilt as low-maintenance native landscapes. We work with what the site gives us.

06

Commercial Grounds

Apartments, hospitality, workplaces and retail — landscapes that welcome people in and cost less to keep looking sharp, with maintenance reporting for managers.

Chapter 03 — How it moves

Five steps. No surprises.

i.

Site visit & brief

We walk the site together. You get a written scope and an honest budget range before anything is drawn.

ii.

Concept design

Two or three directions in native palettes. You choose; we refine with you.

iii.

Documentation

Construction drawings, drainage, irrigation and planting schedules.

iv.

Construction

Our own crews build. Site lead, weekly updates, documented workmanship.

v.

Handover & care

Plant-by-plant care guide, establishment plan, optional maintenance program.

Chapter 05 — Residential & commercial

Backyards that belong here. Grounds that work hard.

Residential: full backyard transformations, front-yard street appeal, pool surrounds, native cottage gardens, shaded courtyards. Sample pricing (indicative only): concept design from $1,800 (sample); planting refresh from $95/m² (sample); full design + build typically $25k–$80k+ (sample).

Commercial: apartment common areas, cafés, offices, retail frontages — with body-corporate liaison and scheduled maintenance contracts. Sample pricing: maintenance from $220/visit (sample); installs quoted per site.

Serving Brisbane and surrounding areas — inner city, northside, bayside, Logan and Ipswich corridors; Sunshine and Gold Coasts for larger projects. Licensed & insured on every job. Certification badge

Chapter 06 — Questions

Asked first.

How long does a typical project take? −

Most residential projects run 4–12 weeks from design sign-off to handover. A planting refresh takes days; a full backyard with retaining, paving and drainage needs 6–10 weeks of construction. Your fixed quote includes a written program — and we tell you honestly when a deadline isn't realistic.

Why native plants over exotics? +

They already know how to live here. Native species handle Brisbane's heat, storms and clay with far less water and fertiliser — and feed local wildlife. Lower running costs, more life in the garden.

Do you work outside Brisbane? +

Brisbane and surrounding areas — northside, bayside, Logan and Ipswich corridors, plus the Sunshine and Gold Coasts for larger projects. Call 07 3189 6144 to check your suburb.

Can you maintain it after the build? +

Yes — horticultural maintenance is a core discipline. Scheduled pruning, mulching, feeding and seasonal adjustment. Optional, but gardens under our care plan establish faster and stay true to the design.

What does design cost before I commit? +

Design is quoted separately — sample: concept design from $1,800 (sample). If we build the project, the design fee is credited against construction. You pay once for the thinking.
