The story — five chapters
Most yards fight Central Texas. Ours don’t.
Scroll through how we think: the soil under your feet, the water in your bill, the stone under your chair, the shade over your dinner, and the crew that keeps it all honest. One crew, start to finish — design, build, maintain.
Chapter 01 — The land
Start with
the dirt.
Central Texas sits on limestone and caliche that laughs at generic planting plans. We test your soil, fix drainage, and amend with compost and expanded shale before a single plant goes in. A yard built on honest groundwork doesn’t heave, puddle, or starve — it just grows.
- Grading & drainage: water guided away from the foundation, toward the roots.
- Soil amendment: limestone soil made workable, not wished away.
- Bed edging: steel and stone lines that stay crisp for years.
Chapter 02 — Water
Drink
less.
Xeriscape is our first language. We replace thirsty turf with layered native planting — salvia, yucca, muhly grass, Texas-tough perennials — on drip zones tuned to each plant’s actual thirst. The result looks lush, not spartan, and your summer water bill finally behaves.
- Native palettes: 60+ proven Central Texas performers.
- Drip zoning: set the timer once, then forget it exists.
- Smart irrigation: new installs and fast repairs on existing systems.
Chapter 03 — Structure
Walls & stone
that stay put.
Retaining walls are structural work wearing a pretty face. Ours get proper footings, geogrid, and drainage behind every course — terraces that turn a useless slope into planted levels you can walk. Patios go down on compacted base with tight joints: no rocking pavers, no sinking corners.
- Retaining walls: engineered, drained, guaranteed straight.
- Stone patios & pavers: walkways and terraces that connect the whole yard.
- Fences & driveways: boundaries rebuilt to drain right.
Chapter 04 — Living
Rooms
without roofs.
A cedar pergola over a stone patio, string lights, a seating wall, dinner outside in October — this is the part clients talk about at parties. We design outdoor living around how you actually gather: shade where the sun hits, seating where the conversation lands, paths that make sense barefoot.
- Pergola patios: custom shade structures for dining and lounging.
- Decks: solid, code-built platforms that meet the yard.
- Artificial turf: pet-friendly, mud-free green that survives August.
Chapter 05 — Upkeep
Kept,
not forgotten.
A great install deserves better than neglect. Our maintenance plans — mowing with crisp edges, seasonal pruning, irrigation checks, mulch refreshes, full cleanups — keep week-one looking like week one. Many clients start with a project and stay for the upkeep. That’s the idea.
- Recurring mowing: on schedule, edges always sharp.
- Tree services: trimming, pruning, storm response.
- Yard cleanups: overgrown to orderly in a day or two.

Asked often.
How much does a xeriscape conversion cost?
Most front-yard conversions land between $4,000 and $12,000 (sample figures) depending on size, grading, and plant maturity. Lower water bills pay back a meaningful share over the following seasons. Written estimate, free consult.
