On Manchester roofs for twenty years

Daniel Scott Roofing is a family-run company, on local roofs since 2004. Every job is carried out by our own in-house roofers — we never use subcontractors, and the first site visit is done by the owner himself. We hold NFRC Competent Person Scheme registration, so we certify qualifying work under Building Regulations ourselves: no council application, no inspector visit, and you get the compliance certificate direct. CORC accredited, £10 million public liability cover, and a 10-year workmanship guarantee on every major project.

01

New roofs & full re-roofs

Strip back to the rafters and rebuild from the felt up — natural slate, concrete tile or heritage stone. Signed off under our NFRC registration with a 10-year workmanship guarantee.

Natural slate · Concrete tile · Stone
02

Flat roofing systems

EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and traditional lead for extensions, garages, dormers and bay windows — correct falls for drainage, modern insulation, guaranteed for a decade.

EPDM · GRP · Lead
03

Loft conversions

Dormer, hip-to-gable, L-shaped and Velux-only conversions. Most of a loft conversion is roofing work — that is our trade — and Building Regs are certified in-house.

Dormer · Velux · Hip-to-gable
04

Roof repairs

Slipped tiles, failed flashing, storm damage, split valleys. Our rule: if a repair will do the job properly, we repair — we only recommend a re-roof when the covering is failing everywhere.

Tiles · Flashing · Valleys
05

Chimneys, leadwork & gutters

Chimney repointing and rebuilds, chimney gully re-leading, fascias, soffits, guttering and Velux window installations — the small jobs done with the same care as a full roof.

Chimneys · Lead · Guttering

08 · FAQ

Straight answers

Do I need building regulations for a new roof?
Yes, if more than 25% of your roof covering is replaced. We are registered with the NFRC Competent Person Scheme, a government-authorised register, so we certify the work ourselves: no council application, no inspector visit, no extra council fees. You get the official Building Regulations compliance certificate from us directly.
Repair or re-roof — how do I decide?
Follow the economics. If the damage is localised — a few slipped tiles, one failed flashing, a single leak — a repair is the sensible call and usually finishes in a day. If the covering is failing everywhere (widespread slipped or porous tiles, crumbling felt), a re-roof costs less than chasing leaks around the roof for years. Our free written quote tells you honestly which one you are looking at.
How much does a typical repair cost?
Most minor repairs sit between £280 and £600 and are finished in a day; price moves with access and scaffolding rather than the size of the leak. A full re-roof of a terrace or semi typically runs £7,000–£18,000 and takes six to nine working days. The sample pricing above is indicative — your exact figure comes in the free written quote.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every roof is fitted by our own in-house team of qualified roofers. The first site visit and quote are done by the owner, Daniel, himself — you always know who is turning up.
Are you insured and guaranteed?
Yes on both counts. We carry £10 million public liability cover, every major project carries our own 10-year workmanship guarantee, and as CORC members we can arrange an insurance-backed guarantee on any job — so your cover stands even in the unlikely event the company ceases trading.
