Cold is on the right.
We are a small Austin plumbing crew. Drains, water heaters, leaks, fixtures — the everyday stuff that keeps a house running. One van, honest quotes, and we clean up after ourselves. Below is an example lineup of the work we do most.
Cold Is On The Right started the way most good trade shops start: one plumber, one van, and a phone that would not stop ringing. Twelve years in, we are still small on purpose. Small means the person who answers the phone is the person who shows up. Small means we remember your water heater. Small means when we say we will be there Tuesday between nine and eleven, we are there Tuesday between nine and eleven. We work across Austin — older bungalows with galvanized pipe, new builds with PEX, rentals, remodels, the whole mix. Every job on this page is an example of the kind of work we do every week. If it involves water moving where it should, or not moving where it should not, that is our lane.
Tell us what is happening in plain words — gurgling, dripping, cold shower, smell. We will ask three or four questions and usually know what we are walking into. If it sounds like something you can fix with a plunger and ten minutes, we will tell you that and save you the trip charge.

We look before we quote
On site, we diagnose first and price second. You get the number before any wrench turns, in writing, with parts and labor broken out. If the fix turns out smaller than expected once we open things up, the price goes down, not up.

We fix it like it is ours
Drop cloths down, shoe covers on. We cut the smallest access we can, use parts we would put in our own houses, and test everything twice — then we run the water while you watch so there are no surprises later.

We stand behind it
Labor warranty in writing on every job, and we honor manufacturer warranties on the parts we install. If something we touched acts up, call us — we come back and make it right. That is the whole business model.
Written labor warranty
Callbacks handled by us, not a call center
Maintenance reminders if you want them

What things roughly cost

05 / ASKED OFTEN
Fair questions
Do you charge to come look?
There is a diagnostic visit fee, and it is waived in full when you have us do the repair. We would rather earn the job than charge for the driveway.
Can I supply my own parts?
Yes. We will tell you honestly if the part you bought is a headache to install or a warranty risk, and then it is your call. Labor warranty still applies to our work.
How fast can you get here?
Same-day for most of Austin when you call before noon. True emergencies — active leaks, sewage backup, no hot water with kids in the house — jump the line.
Do you work on old houses?
Gladly. Half our week is galvanized pipe, cast iron, and creative previous-owner repairs. We are used to it and we do not upsell a full repipe unless the pipe is actually done.
What areas do you serve?
Austin and the near suburbs. If you are on the edge of that, call anyway — for bigger jobs we travel.
06 / CALL
Water misbehaving?
Call or text. Tell us what the water is doing and where. Photos help. We will give you a straight answer about whether it needs a visit, and if it does, a time window we actually keep. Service examples on this page are illustrative; your quote is written on site.
