BLAKEWOOD LANDSCAPES — LEEDS

Quiet gardens,
built properly.

Garden design & buildLeeds, UK(555) 010-2030

We are a Leeds landscape company, established in Morley in 1995. For thirty years we have designed, built and maintained gardens across the city — the patios, lawns, fences and walls that make a garden feel finished, and the planting that keeps it interesting.

Three maintenance crews and two development crews, most of them with us for years. Fixed written quotes before we start. A tidy site every evening. Planting chosen for Yorkshire weather, not for a photograph.

Our work has been featured in Yorkshire Life — but we measure ourselves by the gardens our customers stop noticing, because everything simply works.

What we do

Everything a garden needs, under one roof.

Ten trades, one phone number. You deal with us from the first visit to the last barrow of soil — no passing your garden between strangers.

01Garden design & build

Full redesigns from bare lawn to finished garden — layout, levels, drainage, planting and lighting planned as a single job, not bolted together afterwards.

02Patios & paving

Paths and patios in Indian sandstone, porcelain and York stone. Proper sub-base, correct falls, joints that stay put — the work you never see decides whether a patio lasts five years or twenty-five.

03Turfing & lawns

New lawns from bare soil: rotovate, level, quality turf, and honest aftercare advice so it roots instead of sulking. Repairs and re-turfing for tired grass.

04Fencing

Closeboard, overlap panels, trellis and concrete-post systems. Storm-damaged runs replaced straight and true, gates hung to swing properly.

05Stone & brick walling

Garden walls, raised beds and retaining walls in stone or brick, built plumb with footings below the frost line. Leaning and blown walls repaired.

06Tree pruning

Crown lifts, careful reductions and deadwood removal at the right time of year — timed for the tree's health and your light.

07Pergolas & timber

Pergolas, arches and timber structures in treated softwood or cedar, postcreted deep and braced square — built to take a Yorkshire winter.

08Water features

Ponds, rills and fountains with proper liners, filtration and planting. Wildlife-friendly options that look after themselves once established.

09Commercial grounds

Grounds maintenance and landscaping for offices, schools, retail parks and housing developments. Scheduled visits, tidy sites, one point of contact.

10Maintenance contracts

Regular mowing, hedge cutting, weeding and seasonal tidy-ups on an annual contract — the same crew, the same standard, every visit.

Two kinds of client

Homes and grounds.

Residential

Most domestic jobs start with a garden that frustrates its owner — the boggy corner, the patio that ponds, the fence leaning after the last storm. We visit, listen, measure, and design for how you actually live.

Commercial

How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

01

Walk the garden

We come to you anywhere in Leeds, walk the space, hear what drives you mad about it, and take measurements. Free, no obligation, usually within the week.

02

Plain-English plan

A fixed written quote: what happens, what materials, what it costs. Anything unclear gets changed before we start, not after.

03

The build

Our own development crews do the work. Groundwork first, materials that suit the job, and the site left tidy every evening.

04

Handover & aftercare

We walk it with you, explain everything, leave planting notes — and offer a maintenance contract if you want us to keep it looking this way.

Questions

Asked often.

Do you give free quotes? +
Yes — every quote starts with a free visit. We come to your garden anywhere in Leeds, measure up, talk through what you want, and leave a fixed written quote. No obligation and no hard sell.
How much does a new garden cost? +
Ground conditions move the number more than taste does. Access, drainage, levels and demolition decide the price. The sample guide above gives a feel; the honest answer comes after we have stood in your garden.
Which areas do you cover? +
Leeds and the towns around it. Based in Morley: Wakefield, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Harrogate, Pontefract, Castleford and Dewsbury. Larger commercial contracts further afield — just ask.
Do you take on commercial grounds work? +
Yes, it is half the business. Three dedicated maintenance crews on annual contracts for offices, schools, retail parks and housing developments. References available on request.
When could you start? +
It depends on the season. Spring books up fastest; winter is usually quickest for build work. Maintenance contracts can start any time. Call and we will give you a real date.
