A neighbourhood yoga studio on Westmoreland Street. Morning flows before work, slow Yin after it, and a hot room for the ones who like to sweat it out.

01 — About the studio

We are a small yoga studio in Grey Lynn, Auckland. No mirrors on every wall, no shouting over the music. Just warm rooms, steady sequences, and teachers who actually watch how you move. Beginners start with the foundations class, regulars cycle between Vinyasa, Yin and Hot depending on the day. Mats, blocks and straps are here if you need them, and the kettle is on after the Sunday morning session.

02 — What we run

Classes & services

Six things we do, and we do them every week. Class sizes stay small on purpose, so nobody gets lost in the back row.

03 — Go deeper

Weekly classes

Vinyasa, Yin, Hot and Mind-Body classes run across the week, mornings and evenings. The timetable is pinned to the studio door and emailed out monthly.

Drop in once to try a style, or settle into a regular slot. Teachers know the regulars by name and by their dodgy left hamstring.

Workshops

One-topic intensives on weekends: inversions, hip openers, breathwork, yoga for runners. Two to three hours, small groups, plenty of individual feedback.

Workshops are where regulars fix the thing that has been bugging them for months. Book early — the room only holds so many mats.

Teacher training

A multi-month foundational programme for students who want to teach or deepen their own practice. Anatomy, sequencing, philosophy and lots of practice teaching.

Graduates assist in regular classes before teaching their own. We keep cohorts small so everyone gets real feedback, not just a certificate.

04 — Class levels

Find your level

All levels

Foundations & open classes

Most classes welcome every level. Teachers demo the full pose and the modification side by side. If you are brand new, start with a foundations session and tell the teacher — they will keep an eye on you.

Hot

Heated practice

Hot Yoga runs in a heated room with a set sequence. It is physical. Drink water beforehand, bring a towel, and sit down whenever you need to — nobody minds.

Yin

Slow & still

Yin is the opposite end of the dial: floor poses held for minutes, props everywhere, room kept dim. Good for tight hips, bad backs and busy heads.

Teacher training

Learn to teach

The training programme covers anatomy, sequencing, philosophy and practice teaching over several months. Small cohorts, real feedback, assisting in live classes before you graduate.

Where is the studio? +

18 Westmoreland Street West, Grey Lynn, Auckland. We are in the Grey Lynn neighbourhood, handy for Ponsonby, Mt Eden, Kingsland, Morningside and Freemans Bay. Look for the Basecamp Yoga sign — come ten minutes before your first class.
