Before we draw anything, we walk your property at the hottest part of the day. That's when a Miami yard tells the truth: where the sun actually lands at 3pm, where the water sits after a storm, which corner never dries, which tree is doing all the work. We take photos, measure grades, note the downspouts and the neighbor's fence. Most landscapers skip this and guess from the driveway. We don't guess.
The walk takes about an hour. You point at everything you hate and everything you'd keep if it behaved. We ask about kids, dogs, pool plans, how much maintenance you honestly want to do — because a garden you won't maintain is a garden that dies on schedule. Then we leave, and the drawing starts.

Mature trees, good walls, the path that works. Tearing everything out is expensive and usually unnecessary. We design around what's already earning its place.
If your soil won't hold what you want, or the budget won't stretch to the full plan this year, we say so — and phase the work so phase one still looks finished.
South Florida is not a generic "zone" — it's heat, salt air near the coast, afternoon deluges, sandy soil that drains too fast, and a hurricane season that prunes for you if you don't prune first. Our planting plans use plants that evolved for exactly this: sabal palms, clusia, muhly grass, coontie, firebush, gumbo limbo. Botanical names on every plant, so you can verify everything we spec.
You get a scaled layout, a plant schedule with quantities and spacing, material selections, and lighting positions. Nothing is a placeholder. If a plant in the drawing can't be sourced from a local grower within two weeks, it doesn't go in the drawing.
The people who drew your plan are on site when it gets built. Grading first — water has to leave the house and the beds, not sit in them. Then irrigation zones matched to what each bed actually drinks, conduit for lighting before the pavers go down, hardscape with a compacted base that won't sink by Christmas.
Planting happens in the cooler part of the day, at the right depth — planting too deep is the number-one killer of new plants in Florida — and everything gets watered in the same day it's planted. We mulch three inches deep, keep it off the trunks, and leave you with a watering schedule for the first month, not a shrug.
A new landscape looks intentional on day one and alive by month six — if someone prunes, feeds, and watches the irrigation. Our care visits are timed to the growing season: spring shaping, summer irrigation checks before the real heat, storm-season cutbacks so the next big wind doesn't rearrange your trees, and mulch refresh when it thins out.
We don't do the suburban crew thing — mow, blow, and shear everything into meatballs. Pruning follows each plant's habit and bloom time. Crape myrtles get thinned, never topped. Palms keep their boots unless they're a hazard. The garden should look like itself, only better.
