Massage — by appointment

We believe a yoga class should leave you calmer than it found you. Fewer poses, longer holds, breath first — that is the whole method.

In focus

What a class is actually like.

/ 01

Hatha Yoga

Slow postures, held for breaths. A typical class: ten minutes of breathing, forty minutes of standing and seated postures with clear alignment cues, ten minutes of rest you will not want to end. Teachers demonstrate the prop-supported version first — blocks, straps, and bolsters are standard equipment, not training wheels.

About half of every Foundations class is brand new to yoga. That is who it is built for.

/ 02

Prenatal Yoga

Gentle, supported movement for expecting mothers. No deep twists, no belly-down postures, no overheated rooms. Expect side-lying rest, supported squats, hip openers with bolsters, and breathing practice you can use well beyond the studio.

Check with your doctor or midwife first, and mention how far along you are when you arrive. Every trimester is welcome.

/ 03

Massage Therapy

Sixty or ninety minutes, built around what hurts. Desk backs, tight hip flexors, shoulders welded to ears — describe it when you book and the therapist plans accordingly. Firm where it helps, gentle where it does not.

By appointment only. Call (555) 010-2030 to find a time.

/ 04

Your first visit

Book one Hatha Foundations class and arrive ten minutes early. Wear anything you can move in. Drink water beforehand, eat lightly an hour or two before class rather than right before. Tell the teacher it is your first time — they will check in without making it a thing.

Single class is $22 (sample). Mats, blocks, straps, and blankets are all at the studio.

/ 05

What to expect, honestly

No mirrors, no headstands on day one, no Sanskrit pop quiz. Classes are quiet, the room is simply furnished, and resting in child's pose whenever you need is standard practice. You will be gently corrected on alignment — that is the teaching, not criticism.

Most people feel it in their hamstrings the next day. That is normal. Come back within the week.

Straight answers

How much is a drop-in class?–

$22 (sample). Any Hatha or prenatal class, with mat and props included. No membership needed for a first visit.

Do I need experience to start?+

No. Hatha Foundations assumes you have never done yoga. Postures are taught slowly, props are normal, and resting is always allowed.

Is prenatal yoga safe?+

For most pregnancies, yes — with your doctor's or midwife's okay first. Classes avoid deep twists and belly-down work and stay prop-supported throughout.

How do I book a massage?+

Call (555) 010-2030. Sessions run 60 or 90 minutes by appointment; 60 minutes is $95 (sample). Mention what is sore when you book.

What should I bring?+

Water and comfortable clothes. Eat lightly an hour or two before class. The studio provides mats, blocks, straps, and blankets.
