A yard is a drainage plan wearing a garden.

We are A Green Future, a Calgary landscaping crew. Retaining walls, paving stone, decks — and the underground work that decides whether any of it survives spring melt. Designed for Calgary's climate, from the soil up.

What we build.

  • / 01

    Landscaping design

Full-yard plans — layout, beds, plantings and grading as one decision. Designed for Calgary's climate from the first sketch. Sample planning ranges from $4,200 (Sample).

  • / 02

    Drainage solutions

Standing water, low spots, downspouts at the foundation. Diagnose grades, soil and low spots; fix with regrading, drainage pipe, French drains or downspout extensions. French drains from $2,900 (Sample).

  • / 03

    Retaining walls

Tiered walls that make slopes usable. Permit needs depend on height, location, loading and current City of Calgary rules — checked before construction. From $185 / lin. ft (Sample).

  • / 04

    Paving stones & patios

Patios and walkways with drainage-conscious finishing — like the Parkdale backyard: a worn, uneven yard rebuilt into a clean paving-stone patio. Patios from $8,500 (Sample).

  • / 05

    Decks & outdoor construction

Decks, stairs and outdoor structures with solid footings and honest framing, built for Alberta weather.

  • / 06

    Sod & planting

Fresh sod, gravel beds and plantings chosen for the site and the climate — not the catalogue photo. Sod refreshes from $2.75 / sq ft (Sample).

Case

Parkdale patio

A worn, uneven backyard in Parkdale, Calgary, transformed with a new paving-stone patio, clean edging and drainage-conscious finishing.

Emergency

Standing water

After storms or spring melt, pooling water means grades, soil or downspouts are wrong. We diagnose first, then rebuild — and explain the process clearly at each step.

Scope

Homes & commercial

Residential: new-build front and back yards, terracing, patios, decks. Commercial: entry landscapes, grading and drainage corrections — scope discussed clearly before construction.

Process — 04

Four steps.

STEP 01

Site assessment

We walk the property — grades, low spots, soil, downspouts, access, demolition. A real quote starts here; the online estimator is a preliminary planning estimate.

STEP 02

Design & estimate

A written plan and estimate shaped to the site and Calgary's climate. Materials, grading and drainage priced honestly before digging.

STEP 03

Construction

Clean worksite, clear scope discussions before construction, prompt communication throughout.

STEP 04

Walkthrough

We walk the finished work together — grades, drainage flow, finishes — and hand over a yard you can use.

Questions — 06

Asked often.

How much does landscaping cost in Calgary? +
It depends on access, demolition, drainage, grading, materials and site size. Use the online estimator for a preliminary planning range, then book a site assessment for the real number.
When is the best time to begin? +
You can plan any time of year. Designing and estimating before the build season is the calmest route — construction starts the moment weather allows.
How do you solve standing water? +
Diagnose first: grades, low spots, soil, downspouts. Then regrading, drainage pipe, a French drain or downspout extensions — whichever the site needs.
Do retaining walls require permits? +
It depends on wall height, location, loading and the City of Calgary's current rules. We check your property's requirements before construction.
Can I use the online estimator before a consultation? +
Yes — it gives a preliminary planning estimate. The on-site consultation is a separate service and produces the actual quote.
